Here's our latest video of our nine week old chicks - pullets now. They're active and adventurous, but still recognize me as safety and love coming over to peck at my shoes and legs.

In addition to working and going to school full time, I’m the chief engineer of our urban homestead. In addition to the standard chickens and plants, we’ve converted our old in-ground pool into a pond with goldfish, koi, and aquatic plants. The pond is also part of a larger aquaponic system that naturally filters the water, while allowing us to grow in the desert using a fraction of the water needed for traditional growing.
